Also known as Ganapati, Ganesh is the best known and most loved deity in Hinduism. Ganesh is often referred to as “The Remover of Obstacles” and “The Lord of Good Fortune”. The son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesh is easy to identify with his elephant head and large rotund belly. His head symbolizes unmatched wisdom, and his belly the capacity to handle all experiences in life with patience and understanding. This beading portrays Ganesh gazing compassionately outward offering two lotus blossoms (symbols of purity) and a bowl of sweets (representing our divine right to celebrate life). Ganesh’s lower right hand is held in Abhaya mudra which symbolizes the constant flow of love and blessings. Ganesh brings playfulness and joy into the lives of those who see his auspicious form.
